THIGH LIFT SURGERY (THIGHPLASTY)

Surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the thighs to achieve firmer and more attractive looking upper legs. A section of skin (and possibly fat) is surgically removed. The remaining skin is then tightened to improve the shape and contour of the leg.

TYPES OF THIGH LIFTS

  • Outer Thigh Lift (Lateral) - targets the front and outside of the legs. This operation often requires the plastic surgeon to operate on the buttocks area.

  • Inner Thigh Lift (Medial) - targets the upper portion of the inner thigh. Usually involves a small incision in the groin area. Liposuction may be used to remove excess fat.

Medial - Pertaining to the middle; nearer the middle of the body.

Lateral - The side of the body or a body part that is farther from the middle or center of the body.
