Undergoing Surgery For A Pinched Ulnar Nerve

I have a 14 and 1/2 year old daughter, within approx. the last 9 months her little finger and wedding finger on both hands have started to bend, she has been to see someone at Children's Alderhey Hospital in Liverpool and they put a splint on, she has also attended a Occupational Therapy Appointment and they are saying she has no muscle or lack of muscle by these two fingers and have given her exercises to do. Her GP has also wrote and we now have a appointment with the Rheumatology Department. Have you information as to what the problem could be?? I am really worried about her fingers never being able to straighten again.

Sorry, but I am not a doctor and wouldn't even attempt a guess. Her situation is not similar to mine in that both of her hands are involved.

It appears you are doing the right things (like seeking medical attention).

If you haven't done so already, you may want to look at this page. It contains problems with hands and fingers that many different people have written in about.

Sorry I couldn't help. The best thing will be to wait and see what they say at your next appointment.

Thank you for replying, and I will have a look, at the page you said. She went on Friday to have some Therapy and they said the muscle by her knuckles as weak and gave her some exercises to do. Hope it works and hope all will be ok your end too!! Regards
