The following post from our tummy tuck forum is from a person who is going to have a belt lipectomy and is wondering how much time off from work they have to take and whether there are any serious risks involved with the belt lipectomy surgery.

Hi I am 25 years old. I lost around 75 pounds and i am plannig for belt lipectomy.

I have a few questions,

1. How long does it take to get back to work? As i have to plan for the holidays.

2. Are there any serious risks involved?

Kamalaksha,

Going back to work after a belt lipectomy varies with each person.

A belt lipectomy is more complicated than just a tummy tuck. Going back to work after such a surgery really depends on how fast your body heals, how healthy you are and whether or not you have any complications from the surgery.

The average back to work time for a tummy tuck is 1-3 weeks, so if a belt lipectomy is more invasive and extensive than a tummy tuck, expect the same if not more for your operation.

For more info on time off from work see Back To Work One Week After Tummy Tuck.

Concerning the risks – YES, there are serious risks involved. A belt lipectomy is major invasive surgery.

I would suggest that you take a look at our tummy tuck forum to get a good idea of the risks as well as Tummy Tuck Complications and Risks.

If you haven’t already done so and want to know more what is involved in a belt lipectomy you might want to visit my home page TummyTuckForMen.com. It describes my operation (which is essentially the same thing as a belt lipectomy) and everything that I went through.

Good luck,

Tanner
